High Content Screening HCS is an analysis tool used to acquire, manage, and search multi parametric information for the composite phenotype of cells, and thus allows for the simultaneous analysis of the impact of a given perturbation (gene depletion or drug) on this composite phenotype. For these reasons, HCS is now used to target identification and validation, for secondary and tertiary screening, to support the hit-to-lead process and mode-of-action studies, but also as a tool for primary screening to identify hits among thousand of compounds. The facility at TIGEM allows us to do a large scale screening to search for hits among thousands of compounds, and thus increases efficacy. This core is very integrated with the bioinformatics core, as both using multi-parametric analysis in order to understand the genetic mechanisms and how they interact with drugs.
The "Total Award" amount indicated for this project represents the share of the funding of the Telethon Foundation for research by the Tigem institute from July 2016 until last budget year, calculated based on the size of the research group.
